We value your feedback!
In July 2024, we conducted a survey to hear from our wonderful families. The survey included questions similar to those from Ofsted Parent View and asked parents and carers to share what they love about St Andrew’s and suggest areas for improvement.
Here are some highlights from our survey
- 94.5% of parents and carers said their child is happy and feels safe at school.
- 85.5% would recommend St Andrew’s to other families.
- Around 70% mentioned that the school supports their child's personal development and offers plenty of activities outside of lessons, like clubs, sports, music, and crafts.
The best things about St Andrew’s, as identified by you, are

- ‘Caring staff, experienced and calm teachers, focus on wellbeing over results, responsive to requests, experienced and nurturing TAs and support staff’
- ‘The staff and office staff are friendly and approachable’
Overall sense of community in the school: Families appreciate the happy environment and strong sense of community. Here’s what you shared:

You said, we did
A final question in the survey asked for suggestions to improve our school. Thanks to your great ideas, we've implemented several new tools and changes.
- You said: There is a need for better communication between school and families
We did: We introduced ClassDojo to keep parents and carers informed about what the children do in school every week and to communicate more promptly about events or activities. We also introduced Medical Tracker to provide immediate information about small accidents or medicine administration. More information on communications can be found here.
- You said: Parents meetings should be face-to-face
We did: We have reintroduced face-to-face parent meetings in the Autumn and Spring terms. More information on parents meetings here.
- You said: Parents want more before and after school provision
We did: We brought in a sports provision for before and after school by LSC, in addition to the existing The Nest Childcare provider. More information on school clubs can be found here.
- You said: Parents would like to see an improved use of the outdoor space
We did: We started consultations with children and families to find ways to use the extensive playground and introduce forest school education within our curriculum. The involvement of the PTA is proving essential in facilitating ideas, stakeholder engagement, and financial support through grants. We will keep you informed of all progress.
- You said: We want more extra-curricular opportunities for our children, including trips, sports, and clubs
We did: We continue organising trips for each year group, balancing this with the teaching of the curriculum. Kids can take part in lunchtime clubs, including sports and crafts. We also increased our wheely and bike days (through collaboration with BikeRight) to develop kids' abilities and confidence in riding bikes and scooters.
