Friday 10 November 2023 Remembrance Members of our school Ethos Council from Year 6 helped Rev George to lead our Remembrance Collective Worship on Wednesday 8th November. Years 5 and 6 watched a special live Remembrance Assembly on Friday 10th November.

Friday 3 November 2023 Year 6 visit Central Library On Thursday 2nd November, Year 6 visited Manchester Central Library to meet poet Matt Goodfellow. They have been reading his new book, 'The Final Year', in school. It was very inspiring and the children really enjoyed it.

Tuesday 31 October 2023 PTA Disco for KS2 Our recent PTA KS2 Disco was a big success! Thank you to all of the members of the PTA who organised the event and helped out with the balloons, food stalls, tattoos and glitter face painting. The children really enjoyed it!

Tuesday 31 October 2023 Macmillan Cake Sale Our cake sale on Friday 13th October raised £410 for Macmillan. A huge thank you to everyone who donated or bought cakes.

Thursday 12 October 2023 Year 5 Trip to Bramall Hall Year 5 have been learning about the Tudors in History this half term. Last week they really enjoyed visiting Bramall Hall to learn more about life during Tudor times.

Tuesday 26 September 2023 Year 6 Trip to Stockport Air Raid Shelters Year 6 have been learning about life during World War II. They had a great time playing the role of evacuees when visiting Stockport Air Raid Shelters yesterday. They showed great knowledge and asked lots of interesting questions!

Thursday 14 September 2023 Parent Governor Election In our school we have provision for two parent governors and there is currently one vacancy. Parent governors are elected by and from other parents and are vital to our governing body.

Thursday 20 July 2023 Summer Term Celebration Assemblies and Progress Awards Today we are celebrating the end of a busy school year. In this morning's Celebration Assemblies Summer Term progress awards were given out, we celebrated good attendance, crowned Greenbank the KS2 House Champions and said good luck to our Year 6 stars as they move on to their new schools.We hope that all of our families have a great summer! ?? See you in September.

Thursday 20 July 2023 Special visitors from Lahore Last week we were joined by some special visitors from the Diocese of Lahore and Cathedral School 4 in Lahore, Pakistan, a school that we have very close links with. We held a special assembly and the children had lots of questions for our visitors in the classrooms afterwards!

Wednesday 19 July 2023 Year 6 Camp Our amazing Year 6 children embraced every challenge they faced during our One Adventure camp. They learnt survival skills, made pancakes and toasted marshmallows, scaled the climbing wall, played laser tag, sung songs around the camp fire, improved their archery and worked as a team to solve various problems. It was great fun!

Thursday 22 June 2023 Year 3 Gardening Club Year 3 Gardening Club have been working hard with Miss Dolphin to transform our garden area. They have been planting and watering throughout the summer term and the results are wonderful! A great example of our school motto: Learning, Loving, Growing Together.

Tuesday 13 June 2023 Summer Fair Saturday 10th June was the St. Andrew's Summer Fair, organised by our PTA. The sun came out and it was an amazing afternoon. Thank you to the PTA for organising such a fantastic event and thank you to everyone in the school community who came to support us!

Friday 9 June 2023 Reception visit Arcadia Library This morning, Reception class visited Arcadia Library to take part in a session called 'Tasting Children's Literature', in collaboration with The University of Manchester. It was a wonderful opportunity to explore the library and help to foster a love of reading, books and the library!

Tuesday 6 June 2023 After School Football Club It was great weather for the Year 5 and 6 Football Club after school on Monday. Children practised their dribbling and shooting before putting these skills into action in a match.

Friday 26 May 2023 PTA School Disco On Thursday 25th May there was a school disco for children in Years 5 and 6, organised by our PTA. There were stalls and games, glitter face painting and of course lots of dancing! It was a big success. Thank you to all of the parents and teachers who helped to organise and run the event, the children really enjoyed it.

Wednesday 24 May 2023 Year 5 and 6 Football On Wednesday 24th May, a St. Andrew's team from Years 5 and 6 played their first matches in a tournament at Burnage Academy for Boys. Despite some fantastic play from our team and lots of shots, we hit the post and crossbar several times, both matches finished with narrow defeats. There will be more matches to play during next half term.

Thursday 4 May 2023 Coronation Celebrations Today we celebrated the upcoming Coronation of His Majesty King Charles III. Children were invited to come to school wearing red, white and blue. The whole school gathered on the playground to sing a special Coronation song we have been learning, called 'To the Sound of Trumpets', and to hear the national anthem.

Friday 31 March 2023 Celebrating the end of the Spring Term On Friday 31st March we held Celebration Assemblies for KS1 and KS2 to mark the end of the Spring Term. Progress Awards were given for Reading, Writing, Maths and Behaviour and it was revealed that Cringle had gained the most House Points in the Spring term - they received a special treat.
