Assemblies

Children take part every week in a Collective Worship and a Celebration Assembly.

KS2 classes gather in the dinner hall on Wednesday for an act of Collective Worship, led by the children of the School Ethos Council and supported by Rev George.

EYFS & KS1 classes gather in the dinner hall on Thursdays for Collective Worship led by Rev Katie. Additionally, Rev Katie leads Collective Worship in the classroom for the children in Beehive.

The themes of these gatherings vary, and include talking about our school Christian Values, sometimes major Christian festivals and at other times other subjects that align with the ethos of the school (e.g. anti-bullying). The theme is explored using creative means, together with a story or reference to the Bible. The children are encouraged to reflect on the theme. The Collective Worship typically starts using familiar symbolism of lighting a candle and a welcome song, and ends with a song and our school prayer of blessing.

Celebration Assemblies for EYFS, KS1 and KS2 is on Fridays, and are led by school staff.

These assemblies are used to celebrate the successes of the week, including best class attendance, a star of the week in each class, and a kindness mention. During the assemblies some children will share the work they have done during the week. Celebration Assemblies always include a singing time and end with our school prayer of blessing.
