    Class Teacher: Mr. F. Janny

      P.E.

Children need to leave their P.E kit at school; we will send it home to be washed every half term. For outdoor games children will need pumps or trainers and jogging trousers for the winter.

Long hair must be tied back and no jewellery please.

4J go swimming every Wednesday morning. Children with long hair need a swimming cap (which they can put on themselves) and boys need fitted style trunks, not shorts. No jewellery is allowed.

In the Autumn term the children will be learning multi skills in addition to going swimming. This will mostly take place outside with a Manchester City coach and will have a focus on developing key skills such as hand eye co-ordination.

    Spellings

Spellings are given out on Friday and need to be learned for the test the following Thursday. Please help your child to learn their spellings at home – remember Look, Say, Cover, Write and Check

    Homework

The children will have one piece of homework on Friday to be completed by the following Thursday at the latest. It is helpful if homework is returned as soon as it is completed.

    Visits

During the school year we will go on a variety of trips that are linked to our topic work each half term.

    Reading books

Your child needs to bring their book bag to school every day. Each week your child will read as part of a group. Children need to try and do as much reading as possible at home and this needs to be written down in their reading record. As your child finishes their reading book they can change it for another one in the morning.  Your child also has a reading log where they are encouraged to write reviews or character studies, etc.,. as they complete their book.  Children are also able to choose a book from the school library which they may take home.

    Friday assembly

Children who have received certificates or cups for out of school activities such as swimming or sporting activities can bring their certificates to show in good work assembly on Friday mornings.
